“It’s like something from a dream!”  These were the first words that came to mind as I watched the video posted to the Mile 0 Fest Facebook page announcing the lineup for the 2020 Mile 0 Fest. For the uninitiated, Mile 0 Fest is a somewhat new music festival (2020 will be it’s third year) that takes over the isle of Key West, FL in late Janurary/early February. Headliners for 2020 include Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Randy Rogers Band, Robert Earl Keen, Whiskey Myers, Lucero, Wade Bowen, and American Aquarium. There are also many veteran Mile 0 Fest artists returning to the delight of many fans including Reckless Kelly, Micky & The Motorcars, Jack Ingram, Mike & The Moonpies, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, William Clark Green, Jason Eady, and Cody Canada & The Departed to name just a few. The lineup also includes (thankfully) the return of the queen of Mile 0 Fest herself, Jamie Lin Wilson. Another notable artist on the lineup is Charley Crockett, who was initially scheduled to appear at the 2019 Mile 0 Fest, but had to cancel due to health issues (surgery) and was replaced by Shane Smith & The Saints, who also are making their return in 2020.

There are also some prominent new additions to the lineup including artists like Will Hoge (editors note: a personal favorite!), Brent Cobb, Hayes Carll, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, and the Steel Woods. Many of these additions have been fan requests in the past and it looks like Oh Wook! Productions took those requests to heart when crafting this monumental lineup.

Many improvements and enhancements were made in 2019 from the inaugural 2018 festival, and if the upward trend continues, 2020 is sure to be an even better experience for festival goers. The 2019 festival launched a brand new app allowing users to keep track of artist’s performance schedules and add them to their own calendar, which proved to be quite successful (and almost a requirement) since there were so many shows happening all over the island at various venues throughout the 5-day festival. With a few minor tweaks, this app will prove to be an invaluable resource to attendees.

The best parts of Mile 0 Fest however, will always be the crazy side-shows, unexpected collaborations, and sense of closeness and access one feels to the artists themselves.  It’s a 5-day party and everyone is made to feel like they’re on the VIP list thanks to the hard work of Oh Wook! Productions. Just a few months ago, Mile 0 Fest was voted the #2 Best Emerging Festival by a USA Today “10Best” Poll, in which a panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote. I think Oh Wook! Productions wants to improve their ranking to #1 based on the lineup they just released!
